County recording guides · 2026
Every county clerk has its own address, fee schedule and quirks — Nassau's tax map verification letter, Suffolk's legal-size endorsement page, Westchester's PREP portal. These guides are generated from the same county data DeedScribe uses to write cover letters and fee estimates, and reviewed against the clerks' sites (last review 2026-09-04).
The five boroughs record through the Department of Finance's ACRIS system. The cover page and tax returns are created online; no paper TP-584 or RP-5217 is mailed.
Each county clerk records by mail, in person, or through an e-recording vendor. The deed travels with a paper TP-584, a barcoded RP-5217, and a check.
